Volkswagen Group sales fell by 0.5% in 2025 compared to the previous year, to market almost 9 million vehicles worldwide, weighed down by weak performance in China and the United States.
Volkswagen sold almost nine million vehicles worldwide in 2025 - similar to the previous year. However, there were extreme regional differences: In China and the USA, there was a sharp downward trend, whereas in Europe and South America, there was an upward trend.
Compared to the previous year, the car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz sold 10 percent fewer cars in 2025. Sales in China, in particular, but also in the USA, plummeted.
