Voters deny Tri County school sinking fund proposal

Tri County Area Schools voters Tuesday’s election overwhelmingly shot down a decade-long $10.8 million sinking fund ballot proposal. The proposal to levy 1.5 mills ($1.50 on each $1,000 of taxable value) for 10 years (2026 to 2035) failed by 1,029 “no” votes to 584 “yes” votes (64% to 36%), a difference of 445 votes. Oops!
