Vote early: Officials stress deadlines for Pennsylvania mail-in ballots
State officials reported over 1.2 million ballot requests, warning that completed mail-in ballots must be physically received by 8 p.m. on Nov. 3 to be counted.
Pennsylvania voters have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, to submit applications for mail-in or civilian absentee ballots for the November 3 general election.
Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt urged voters to act promptly, citing high demand as more than 1.2 million Pennsylvanians had applied for mail ballots as of October 20.
County election offices allow voters to apply in person, receive their ballot, and return it during the same visit through October 27, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Completed ballots must be received by the County Board of Elections by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3; postmarks alone do not qualify ballots for counting.
State officials provide an online tracker for mail-in and absentee ballots, allowing voters to monitor their status before the November 3 deadline.
