Volunteers sought to put flags on veterans’ markers
WARREN — Volunteers are needed to place flags on veterans’ grave markers at Pioneer Cemetery on Youngstown Warren Road. Those who can help are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the shed in the northwest corner of the cemetery. Volunteers should dress appropriately as the ground may be saturated.
Volunteers sought ahead of Memorial Day
Family, friends and neighbors are invited out to Riverside Cemetery and North Lawn Cemetery ahead of Memorial Day to assist with the Avenue of Flags to help look for pipe holes at North Lawn Cemetery at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 18, and at Riverside Cemetery at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 22. Wear old clothes to get dirty; and bring a screwdriver, work gloves and a metal detector if owned.

The Bowling Green Memorial Day Observance Committee will be decorating cemeteries on May 17 in preparation for Memorial Day. Volunteers will begin at Memory Gardens on Liberty Hi Road at 10 a.m., then will be decorating Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green at 1 p.m. Volunteers are needed to assist at both cemeteries.
