Volkswagen has been sentenced to a million-dollar sentence in Brazil for slave-like working conditions during the military dictatorship.
The sentence is known after the talks failed to reach an agreement with the Brazilian VW unit
A Brazilian court found Volkswagen Brazil guilty of using slave labor on its Amazon ranch in 1974—1986 and recovered nearly $30 million. The company itself, which is one of the country's largest automakers, announced its intention to appeal the court's decision.
