A special prototype of the Volkswagen Mission Efficiency passenger car recorded a consumption of only 6.89 kWh per hundred kilometers (excluding charging losses) in real-world operation. The car drove on a route that led from Wolfsburg to Vienna via Poland and the Czech Republic. In total, the car covered 1,278.36 kilometers and moved at an average speed of 67.72 kilometers per hour.
