In the customs dispute with the European Union, US President Trump increases the pressure: from August on, he wants to apply 30 percent to EU imports - now the government is giving an important detail.
US President Trump plans to impose tariffs on all imports from the EU starting in August. He is already doing so in some sectors – such as the automotive industry. There, import surcharges will not be increased further.
The 30 percent US import tariff on goods from the European Union "seems like another attempt to increase pressure," the VNO-NCW business association stated. "It's still important for Dutch and European businesses that we quickly reach a structural solution, but one that benefits both parties," a spokesperson said.
