On June 13, the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees approved a motion that would increase tuition for almost all UK students by 3%. Student football and basketball ticket prices were both raised by over 50% as well, according to UK Athletics. UK Spokesperson Jay Blanton said the subject soon after the approval, explaining why the tuition raises were necessary.
