Vietnam to Release Nearly 14,000 Prisoners Ahead of National Day Celebrations

Vietnam will release 13,915 prisoners and 5 with suspended sentences, including 66 foreigners from 18 countries, marking the largest amnesty in a single year, officials said.

The total number of prisoners released this year is "the biggest ever", said Le Van Tuyen, Vietnamese deputy minister of public security.
