The new year has begun – and thus officially the year of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Austria. A central building block for the musical megaevent has been laid on Monday evening in the Vienna City Hall, where the distribution of the countries to the two semi-finals has been drawn in a TV show on 12 and 14 May in the Wiener Stadthalle.

The new year has begun – and with it, officially, the year of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Austria. A key element for the musical mega-event was laid on Monday evening at Vienna City Hall, where, in a TV show hosted by Alexandra Maritza Wachter and Cesár Sampson, the allocation of countries to the two semi-final shows on May 12th and 14th at the Vienna Stadthalle was drawn.
On Monday evening at 7 p.m., it was decided which country and in what order will sing in the two semi-finals on May 12 and 14, 2026.
Since Monday evening, Vienna has officially been the new host city of the Eurovision Song Contest. Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) received the Song Contest insignia from the hands of his Basel counterpart Conradin Cramer – and a carnival lantern with the face of JJ.
