Dark-Web Drug Trafficker Is Sentenced in B.C. After Being Extradited From Germany
The case stemmed from a four-year RCMP probe into a dark-web drug network that used cryptocurrency and Canada Post to move drugs nationwide.
- On July 14, 29-year-old Victoria resident Isaac Oliveira Scott was sentenced to six and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to five charges including drug trafficking and firearms offenses following his extradition from Germany.
- RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region investigators initiated the four-year probe in December 2022, uncovering a dark-web network using cryptocurrency and Canada Post to distribute drugs across the country before Scott fled Canada in May 2025.
- Using an Interpol Red Notice, German authorities arrested Scott in February 2026, building on evidence from a 2024 Lower Mainland search that yielded handguns, fentanyl, cocaine, and fraudulent identification documents.
- Police continue searching for 28-year-old Treshaun Thompson, who has been missing since September 9, 2025, though VicPD has not confirmed a link between the disappearance and the drug investigation involving Scott.
- Complexities involving dark-web identity concealment made the investigation challenging, but RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. James Bennett stated the collected evidence was considerable enough to secure the convictions.
