Victims of Florida plane crash include a 20-year-old who got her pilot’s license as a teen
On Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, a Learjet 60 crashed in Greenacres, Florida, killing all nine people on board when the Bahamas-bound aircraft plummeted near West Palm Beach.
Data suggests the jet encountered a thunderstorm that surged 15,000 feet in 20 minutes; co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras reported "I've got turbulence, I've got ice" 10 minutes before impact.
Tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, and their two children were among the nine victims, remembered by families as "full of joy and adventure" alongside Anita Maria Apellido Cetina.
Safety Board member Tom Chapman stated Monday that the aircraft appeared to break apart prior to impact, with debris damaging infrastructure and displacing an estimated 600 people from nearby homes.
Investigators are examining the role of 20-year-old co-pilot Filgueiras, who obtained her pilot's license in 2023 while a high school senior, though her rating did not permit commanding pilot duties.
