The constitutional reform that prohibits candidates for the Presidency of the Republic, state governments and Mexico City from having dual nationality and, if they do, formally renounce that granted by a foreign government, was forwarded yesterday by the head of the Executive to the Permanent Commission.
The proposal amends articles 82, 116 and 122 of the Constitution to establish that such resignation must take place prior to applying for registration as a candidate or candidate.
