Veteran QB Gardner Minshew emerges as starting option for rebuilding Cardinals
Minshew brings 47 career starts and a Pro Bowl season to a Cardinals quarterback race that includes Jacoby Brissett and Carson Beck.
On Wednesday, quarterback Gardner Minshew participated in voluntary workouts with The Arizona Cardinals, competing for the starting job in coach Mike LaFleur's first season.
Minshew first met LaFleur during the 2019 Senior Bowl process; seven years later, that connection brought them together in Arizona.
Comparing the system to Mike Leach's Air Raid approach, Minshew noted the offense thrives on "complementary looks and simplicity," building confidence through precise execution.
Minshew faces competition from Jacoby Brissett, Carson Beck, and Kedon Slovis, though the 33-year-old Brissett remains absent from workouts seeking a restructured contract.
Following a difficult 3-14 season, The Cardinals feature playmakers like All-Pro tight end Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Wilson, with rookie Jeremiyah Love already catching passes from Minshew.
