- On Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, the Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Department and BC Wildfire Service extinguished a structure-turned-grass fire on Ferguson Place that burned 0.3 hectares.
- Fred Dobransky with the Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Department stated, "It was a car burning inside the garage, which is now spread to the structure at this time."
- Dobransky noted the fire threatened to spread across the street into the cemetery park itself, though crews managed exposures around the property to prevent further damage.
- No occupants were inside the home during the incident, while the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen's Emergency Operations Centre monitored the scene with two engines and two apparatus responding.
