VCU Parts Ways with Women's Basketball Coach Beth O'Boyle

The university announced VCU women's basketball head coach Beth O'Boyle was fired Monday and will not coach the rest of the season.
The Rams are 8-15 overall and 4-7 in the Atlantic 10 this season after winning the 2019 A-10 regular-season title and the 2021 conference tournament and NCAA bid.
`This is undoubtedly one of the most difficult moments of my career`, O'Boyle said, having compiled a 191-168 record as VCU women's basketball head coach since 2014.
Athletic director Ed McLaughlin said VCU will begin a national search immediately, and Kirk Crawford will serve as interim coach for the rest of the season.
O'Boyle led VCU to the 2019 A-10 regular-season title and the 2021 conference tournament crown and NCAA bid.
