President Draupadi Murmu's approval has cleared the way for the implementation of the VB-G RAM G Bill 2025, which replaces the nearly two-decade-old MNREGA law with a new framework. The new law increases the employment guarantee for rural families from 100 to 125 days. Funding is divided 60:40 between the central and state governments, and a provision for a 60-day work stoppage during sowing and harvesting has been added.
