The Belgian from Jumbo-Visma was admitted to hospital with heart problems last week after becoming unwell behind the wheel of his car.
Nathan Van Hooydonck quits cycling. The 27-year-old Jumbo-Visma rider had acute heart problems in traffic on September 12, after which he was involved in a major accident. Research has shown that it is too risky to continue his professional career. He continues to live with an internal defibrillator.
