Sooryavanshi Sweeps IPL Awards -- but Is Too Young to Drive Prize
Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shattered records with 776 runs and 72 sixes, becoming the youngest MVP in IPL history.
On Sunday, 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi swept five IPL 2026 awards, including Most Valuable Player, Orange Cap, and Emerging Player.
During the season, Sooryavanshi scored 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.31, compiling five fifties and one century to lead Rajasthan Royals to Qualifier 2.
At 15 years and 65 days, Sooryavanshi became the youngest Most Valuable Player recipient; he also reached 1000 IPL runs in just 23 innings, the fastest Indian to achieve the milestone.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinched their second consecutive IPL title on Sunday, defeating Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium to join Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians as repeat winners.
Kagiso Rabada of Gujarat Titans secured the Purple Cap with 29 wickets, while Sooryavanshi noted he will focus on fitness to "play for a long time" and avoid injuries.
