It is no wonder that in the year of the ninetieth birthday of former Czechoslovak and Czech President Václav Havel, the TrutnOff Open Air music festival is dedicated to him. The politician and playwright, who died in 2011, was closely associated with the event. He supported and attended it both as a citizen and as president. The organizers of the festival, which resembles the Native American philosophy, gave him the nickname Chief.
The TrutnOFF Open Air Festival will bring the premiere of the most famous Czech band Lucie, the return of the legendary The Wailers, or a concert by the American gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello. It will start today at Bojište in Trutnov and will last until Sunday. The East Bohemian Woodstock will commemorate the untimely ninetieth birthday of Václav Havel.
