- On Thursday, the US Secret Service, UK National Crime Agency , and Canadian partners disrupted a $45 million global cryptocurrency scam, freezing $12 million and identifying over 20,000 compromised wallet addresses across 30 countries.
- The week-long Operation Atlantic targeted so-called "pig butchering" scams, where criminals deceive victims into granting wallet access via fake notifications that trick users into approving malicious requests.
- Binance's Special Investigations team deployed on-site at the NCA's London headquarters to provide real-time screening, enabling authorities to identify and contact more than 3,000 victims and return $12 million to their wallets.
- "Through this operation, investigators prevented millions of dollars in fraud losses and disrupted millions more in fraudulent transactions," said Brent Daniels, assistant director for the Secret Service's Office of Field Operations, emphasizing the need for international collaboration.
- Authorities also identified an additional $33 million linked to investment fraud schemes for further investigation, building on Binance's 2025 efforts which supported over 71,000 law enforcement requests and confiscated over $131 million.
