With the Trump-Xi summit approaching, the Taiwan issue is expected to be one of the key topics of discussion between the two leaders. What might Beijing raise? Voice of America interviewed several prominent US-China experts to analyze how the Taiwan issue might be incorporated into this highly anticipated summit.
Xi will visit the U.S. from September 23-25, where he will discuss trade, technology, critical minerals, Taiwan, and Iran with Trump in Washington. Western media reported that Xi will request a halt to arms sales to Taiwan; Chinese media, however, framed the visit within the context of strategic stability.
