U.S. Postal Service to Honor Nation's 250th Anniversary With American Icons Stamps Curated by Ralph Lauren
The 13-stamp collection is the first USPS issue curated by an individual and includes images from Lauren’s archive plus a knit-flag centerpiece.
On Tuesday, the United States Postal Service announced the release of American Icons, a collection of 13 commemorative stamps celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary, curated by legendary American designer Ralph Lauren.
Marking the first time an individual has curated an official USPS issuance, the collection showcases the nation's 250-year legacy, with Lauren selecting images that symbolize the ideals binding Americans together.
The panes feature 13 photographs, including a baseball glove used by Jackie Robinson and the Empire State Building, with a 13th stamp depicting a knit flag designed by Lauren reading "1776 to 2026."
A dedication ceremony will take place Tuesday, June 9, at the James A. Farley Post Office Building in New York, with stamps available for purchase at post offices nationwide beginning that day.
Alongside the stamp release, Lauren will debut a commemorative capsule collection, including an American Flag Sweater and Polo Shirt, at select retail stores globally on June 9.
