LEBANON, AUG 9 – The Lebanese army must develop a disarmament plan for Hezbollah by year-end amid US pressure and regional tensions, with Hezbollah reporting 5,000 fighters killed last year, officials said.
- On August 7, 2025, the Lebanese cabinet approved a U.S.-mediated proposal to disarm armed groups, tasking the army to draft a plan under six security agencies.
