US Navy Battleship USS Nevada: 27,500 Tons, 583 Feet Long, and Could Fire a 15,000 Pound Broadside at Any Battleship (Built in Quincy, Massachusetts)

USS Nevada displaced 27,500 tons when new and carried ten 14-inch guns able to throw a 15,000-pound armor-piercing broadside after modernization. She served off Ireland in World War I, became Pearl Harbor’s only battleship to get underway, and returned for combat from Normandy to Okinawa.
