U.S. moves to slap more tariffs on fresh Canadian mushrooms
The U.S. Department of Commerce is planning to impose increased tariffs on fresh mushrooms imported from Canada.
The preliminary antidumping duty proposed on most fresh Canadian mushrooms is 8.26 percent, according to Mushrooms Canada.
Mushrooms Canada CEO Ryan Koeslag stated that the tariff rate reflects peculiarities of U.S. antidumping law and is not proof of unfair selling by Canadian growers.
In May, the U.S. imposed separate countervailing duties on Canada's mushroom sector.
