U.S. Marshals arrest Akron man in New Philadelphia on stolen weapon charge

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 17, 2025)  – The U.S. Marshals Service was in New Philadelphia Friday to arrest an Akron man. Spokeswoman Anne Murphy says the suspect was 18-year-old Derquan Edwards. He was wanted by Akron police on a warrant for theft of a firearm. Edwards was arrested without incident in the 300 block of Ray Avenue Northeast after marshals learned he had been staying there.
