- President Donald Trump signed an executive order in March 2025 creating the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and Digital Asset Stockpile. Bitcoin deposited into the reserve "shall not be sold" under the order.
- "A transfer is not the same as a sale," market commentator Jose Rosell said on X. The Marshals Service uses Coinbase Prime for custody, and no federal agency announced a sale connected to the transfer.
- Government-Linked addresses still hold around $28 billion in digital assets, with Bitcoin accounting for most of the total. The Treasury determines management strategies for non-Bitcoin assets, including the BNB recently moved from Alameda Research holdings.
