US announces visa bans after warning Israel over West Bank violence
The US State Department will impose travel bans on extremist Jewish settlers who have attacked Palestinians in the West Bank, affecting dozens of individuals and their families.
These visa bans come just a month after Israel was granted entry into the US Visa Waiver Program, and those targeted will not be eligible for the program. Current US visa holders among the banned settlers will have their visas revoked.
The State Department is urging both Israel and the Palestinian Authority to take additional measures to protect civilians and curb attacks.
