UPDATE: Benahavis Wildfire Still Active
More than 200 firefighters and 20 aircraft battled the blaze overnight as officials said steep terrain and 50 km/h winds slowed containment.

- Strong easterly winds with gusts reaching 50km/h and steep terrain made the fire difficult to tackle; emergency services mobilized 212 personnel, including 26 specialist teams and 14 fire engines.
- Three people have been injured, including a 78-year-old man who remains under observation at Malaga Regional University Hospital; around 50 residents from Montemayor Alto remain evacuated.
- Regional minister Antonio Sanz announced on Monday that the lockdown for Benahavis town centre has been lifted, though preventative evacuation remains for Montemayor, La Coja, and Benahavis Hills.
- Efforts are focused on consolidating the perimeter and diverting the fire towards the northern part of Montemayor; Sanz hopes the situation will continue to develop favourably over coming hours.
