University of Arizona student alleges she was sexually assaulted by 2 men at fraternity house
Police are investigating after a sorority member said two men assaulted her and a forensic exam found evidence supporting her account.
University of Arizona Police are investigating a sexual assault allegation reported by a student at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house, located at 1614 East 1st Street, during late August.
Following a hazing complaint, the University of Arizona placed Sigma Phi Epsilon on probation in May 2026, mandating monthly national charter meetings and a fine of nearly $4,000.
According to search warrant records, the student reported waking in a dark room with two men present and noted bruising on her throat that police described as a "possible sign of strangulation."
No arrests have been reported as of Tuesday, while Sigma Phi Epsilon's national organization stated it expects members to "cooperate fully with any investigation."
The allegations surfaced two weeks after the University of Arizona suspended activities for 21 fraternities amid widespread misconduct reports, prompting student calls for enhanced campus safety measures.
