- Burrows argues the current system is inefficient, pushing to end one-party vetoes over the Executive. However, DUP leader Gavin Robinson opposes these changes, asserting the 1998 political settlement and St Andrews deal remain 'a pillar that I don't think can be removed.'
- To attract young voters, Burrows proposed a 'First Home Deposit Bond' redirecting £7,500 of National Insurance contributions toward housing, alongside plans for scrapping 'artificial' university caps. He insists these policies are 'practical, deliverable and exactly the kind of policy that provides the first financial step into adulthood.'
- Despite recent internal turbulence, including the resignation of former leader Doug Beattie and tension with Mike Nesbitt over hospital services, Burrows insists his party is now more united than ever and 'has a job of work to do.'
- Burrows also expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the Drumcree parade dispute, the first such effort in almost 30 years, as he aims to expand the UUP's appeal and reverse declining unionist turnout.
