Undersea cables are vulnerable to sabotage, but this takes skill and specialist equipment

RUSSIA, JUL 7 – Russia has invested heavily in technology to disrupt undersea cables that carry US$9 trillion in daily trade, with attacks focused on vulnerable shore zones in the Baltic Sea.
