Declare a Level of Uncertainty for the Same Aircraft

The plane that landed on Suðurlandsvegur last night is the same one that lost contact with while flying from Greenland yesterday. The Coast Guard declared a level of uncertainty regarding the plane after its pilot did not contact air traffic control at the specified time, did not respond to a call, and the plane was not seen on radar.

A state of emergency was declared at 3:00 a.m. today after contact was lost with a single-engine aircraft en route from Narsarsuaq, Greenland, to Keflavík. The pilot had not reported his flight, the aircraft was not visible on radar and did not respond to calls.
