Apparently, Putin is under pressure from the Ukrainian offensive in the Belgorod region. His military is targeting its own dam.
Explosions would have caused flooding in the region, including damaging agricultural areas. This week, Russia dropped a powerful bomb, weighing about three tons, at a dam in the village of Popovka, in the Belgorod region, near the border with Ukraine. The target was chosen because of the existence of a structure, near a village in the region, used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to supply units in the Sumy and Belgorod regions.
The bomb did not reach its target.
