Ukraine Special Investigator for War Crimes Calls for International Aid

Ukrainian special investigator calls for international support in prosecuting war crimes.

Ukraine's special war crimes investigator, Giunduz Mamedov, has asked the international community to help prosecute possible violations of international humanitarian law in Russia's war against Ukraine.

Since the beginning of 2022, a Ukrainian working group to document war crimes has registered over 100,000 crimes. Ukrainian special investigator Gjundus Mamedov fears that this scale will overwhelm national law enforcement agencies — and hopes for help from other states.
