Russian Drone Made with India-Linked Components Found on Ukraine’s Battlefields
UKRAINE, AUG 5 – Ukraine has identified Indian-made dual-use electronic parts in Russian Shahed drones and raised the issue diplomatically, with over 6,000 drones launched by Russia in July alone, officials said.

- Last year, Ukraine appealed at least two times to India’s Foreign Ministry over Indian-made parts in Shahed drones, Ukrainian military intelligence reported in April finding an Aura Semiconductor component in a Russian weapon.
- According to documents reviewed by the Hindustan Times, Vishay Intertechnology's bridge rectifier E300359 and Aura Semiconductor's PLL-based AU5426A chip were used in the Shahed's voltage regulator and satellite navigation system, assembled or made in India.
- Following the findings, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated India’s dual-use exports adhere to a strong legal framework, and Aura Semiconductor expressed being `deeply disturbed` over potential misuse.
- Supply chain experts warn that, while Indian firms comply with export laws, analysts suggest components were legally exported to West Asia before diversion to Iran or Russia, revealing vulnerabilities in dual-use technology supply chains.
