Dnipropetrovsk is a village near the border with the neighbouring area of Donetsk. This region remains the epicentre of fighting on the front. The battle is raging especially for the takeover of Pokrovsk that Russian forces have been trying to circle for months. The mining city has emptied most of its inhabitants. Some have found refuge in Dnipro, where a school for displaced children and adolescents from Pokrovsk opened its doors in the fall.
