Ukraine hits Russia's Dubna satellite site for second time, Zelenskyy says
Zelenskyy said the site is used for reconnaissance and command, as Moscow reported 419 Ukrainian drones intercepted overnight.
- On Tuesday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed Ukrainian forces struck the Dubna Space Communications Center for the second time, with the facility located over 500 kilometers from Ukraine's border.
- The strike is part of Zelenskyy's newly announced 40-day "long-range sanctions" campaign designed to disrupt Russian military intelligence and reconnaissance capabilities deep inside Russian territory.
- Operating more than 20 antennas including a 32-meter Mark-IV antenna, the complex is Russia's largest ground-based satellite hub, first struck on June 22 according to Ukraine's General Staff.
- Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov slammed the attacks, claiming "civilians are suffering," while Moscow regional governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed a drone struck an "administrative building" and a six-month-old baby died in Yegoryevsk.
- Ukraine has targeted four other satellite centers across Moscow and Vladimir regions as part of the campaign, though Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed intercepting 419 drones across 18 regions.
