ALMATY (Reuters) -Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov appealed to the leaders of the United States and Britain on Thursday after London imposed sanctions on Kyrgyz crypto networks it said were being used by Russia to evade sanctions against Moscow.
The United Kingdom has expanded its list of sanctions against Russia by eight items, including companies from Kyrgyzstan, and Russia has responded with retaliatory measures, Russian media reported today.
The United Kingdom on Wednesday announced measures against eight individuals and entities who helped Russia circumvent Western sanctions through financial and cryptocurrency networks based in Kyrgyzstan.
