European satellite manufacturer NewOrbit has completed an oversubscribed $18.5 million Series A round to make Very-Low-Earth Orbits (VLEO) accessible to commercial customers, becoming the first company to fly satellites at altitudes of 200-300km in the process. From this altitude, NewOrbit aims to offer the highest quality satellite imagery in the market 20x cheaper than conventional satellites alongside faster data speeds.
