UK Shoe Chain Set to Shut 17 Stores as Closing Down Sales Begin - See the Full List
Closing-down sales are under way at some branches, with discounts of up to 60% as owner Modella Capital warns of further changes.
Wynsors World of Shoes will close 17 locations across the UK, with closing-down sales already underway at affected branches. The budget footwear retailer, which operates more than 45 stores nationwide, has not announced an exact closure date.
Private equity owner Mondella Capital warned of job cuts and store estate changes earlier this summer after enduring a challenging 2026. The closures follow that restructuring warning from the company's parent firm.
Discounts of up to 60 per cent are available at affected stores including Crewe, Rochdale, and Gateshead. The retailer stocks brands such as Adidas, Skechers, Clarks, Timberland, Nike, and Crocs.
In a statement, Wynsors Shoes said: "We'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers who have shopped with us." The company thanked staff and shoppers for their loyalty.
The UK retail sector faces a difficult year, with several companies entering administration or liquidation. Leading Labels is closing its remaining 15 stores after falling into liquidation in May, exemplifying broader high-street challenges.
