Nvidia And Uber Aim To Make Robotaxis Real By 2027

Partnership aims to cut costs and scale Uber's autonomous ride-hailing with 100,000 Nvidia-powered Level 4 robotaxis starting in 2027, supported by a joint AI data factory.

  • On Oct. 28, 2025, NVIDIA announced at GTC Washington, D.C. a partnership with Uber Technologies Inc. to build the world’s largest Level 4 fleet targeting 100,000 Robotaxis starting in 2027.
  • NVIDIA's DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 provides a production platform with two DRIVE AGX Thor in-vehicle platforms and a sensor suite of 14 high-definition cameras, nine radars and one lidar.
  • Using the NVIDIA Cosmos world foundation model development platform, Uber will build a robotaxi data factory and collect more than three million hours of driving data, while NVIDIA provides AI tools for training.
  • Start of production is targeted for 2028, with Stellantis producing at least 5,000 Nvidia-powered robotaxis and Uber overseeing fleet operations including charging, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Amid a growing Level 4 ecosystem, NVIDIA supports more than a dozen autonomous developers as it launched the Halos Certified Program and Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab to evaluate physical AI safety.
