Fury Announces Plans to Fight in Dublin This August
Frank Warren said Fury will face a good opponent before the planned November heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua.
On Tuesday, heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury indicated his next fight will be in Dublin on August 1 before facing fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua in November, posting on Instagram 'Let's go, August 1, Dublin in Ireland' while training in Thailand.
Fury's comeback began in April when he defeated Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, marking his fifth return from retirement after back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua is scheduled to fight Albanian Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25, with Fury apparently aiming to compete one week later in Dublin as both parties have agreed to face off later this year, likely in October or November.
Promoter Frank Warren confirmed Fury would face a quality opponent and told Sky Sports that 'Tyson has to come through his, and then the big one will be in November,' though Fury's Dublin opponent remains unnamed pending official announcement.
The Joshua-Fury matchup represents a nearly 10-year quest delayed when Deontay Wilder threatened legal action against their 2021 contract, with a rematch between the rivals expected in 2027.
Former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has said he plans to return to the ring on August 1 in Dublin, a week after fellow former world champion Anthony Joshua makes the move, as they prepare for their "Battle of Britain" fight in November.
