Man arrested on suspicion of murdering two women in London in five months
A 40-year-old man was arrested in connection with the deaths of two women found months apart in London; post-mortems did not determine causes of death.
- Detectives arrested a 40-year-old man on Thursday, September 4 on suspicion of murdering Sheryl Wilkins and re-arrested him for Carmenza Trujillo; on Friday, September 5, the Metropolitan Police named both women.
- On March 17, police found Carmenza Trujillo, 52, unresponsive at Aylesbury Estate where she died, and just over five months later on August 24, Sheryl Wilkins, 39, was found unresponsive on High Road, Tottenham and pronounced dead.
- Following inconclusive forensic exams, police launched investigations after post-mortem examinations were unable to determine how either woman died, the Metropolitan Police said.
- He remains in custody and Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said families of both victims have been updated and supported; he urged, `No woman should feel unsafe in our city` and asked for information via police 101 quoting 1721/24AUG or Crimestoppers on 0800 111 555.
