"One Russia" endorsed the candidates who would propose the chairmanship of the State Duma, its deputies, the heads of committees and commissions in a new meeting, as well as the leadership of the faction. On 24 September, the President of the Dmitry Medvedev Party proposed the nomination of Vyacheslav Volodin as Speaker at a joint meeting of the High and General Councils.
The chairman of the "One Russia" Dmitry Medvedev named candidates for the posts of head of the committees of the State Duma, with 35 committees in the lower house, 20 of which are with the "ER." The party also nominated Vyacheslav Volodin for the position of Speaker, his appointment being supported by Vladimir Putin, and Dmitri Kovalkin as leader of the party's faction in the Duma.
