Teenager spared jail after stealing more than £100,000 worth of goods from Boots

- On Thursday, Highbury Corner Youth Court magistrates spared a 17-year-old jail time, issuing a 12-month criminal behaviour order banning him from Boots, Holland, and Barrett stores.
- The teenager stole goods valued at more than £100,000 from Boots and over £2,415 from Holland and Barrett across London boroughs including Westminster, Kensington, Chelsea, Hammersmith, Fulham, and Camden between April 2024 and December 2025.
- Pleading guilty to 15 counts of theft, the youth was identified via CCTV stealing in company with others, including a single theft of £9,316.05 worth of goods from a Boots in Kensington and Chelsea.
- Magistrate Alexia Fetherstonhaugh warned the defendant, who turns 18 later this year, to "Seize this opportunity" for rehabilitation under a 12-month referral order, also ordering £400 compensation to Boots and £100 to Holland and Barrett.
- The defendant previously claimed he was "shocked" by his grandfather's warning about prison, stating, "Sometimes I just get distracted and led by other people, and stuff like that." He expressed desire to reform.
