Two men dead in apparent murder-suicide in Plateau bar
Two men, one in his 30s and one in his 40s, were found dead from gunshot wounds in a Montreal bar, police say the case is being treated as a murder-suicide with motive unknown.
- On Oct. 3, 2025, Montreal Police Service found two men dead with gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide at the MR250 Bar Lounge in Plateau-Mont-Royal.
- SPVM investigators now say the deaths of the two victims were a homicide followed by a suicide, but the motive is currently unknown.
- Police received 911 calls around 11 p.m. reporting shots inside MR250 Bar Lounge, and `When officers arrived at the scene, several people were rushing out of the establishment`, Manuel Couture said.
- The bar will remain closed in the coming days, the venue said in a post, and a crime scene and security perimeter remain in place as authorities secure the area.
- Investigators set up a command post at the scene Saturday morning, and SPVM major crimes unit says there is no indication the deaths are related to organized crime.
