Two lawmakers apply to join the LDP: independents Mitazono and Hirose (Kyodo News)

On the 10th, independent House of Representatives member Kin Mitazono (66) (Kagoshima 2nd District) and Ken Hirose (50) (Oita 2nd District) met with Secretary-General Hiroshi Moriyama at the LDP headquarters and requested that they be allowed to join the party. Moriyama said, "There will be the House of Councillors election and other events, so let's work together as friends," indicating his intention to accept them.
