Donald Trump has encouraged Alaskans to vote for the “real” Dan Sullivan, as he sought a breakthrough for the Republican incumbent senator in a tightly fought Senate race complicated by a rival candidate with a near-identical name. “On November 3, we’re going to send one of the best and most respected senators in DC Dan Sullivan, the real Dan Sullivan,” Trump told a packed auditorium on Tuesday in Wasilla, a city about 45 miles (72km) north of Anchorage. He urged the audience to reject “the fake Dan Sullivan”, whom he said was “put up by” the Democrats. “That’s just cheating. They’re terrible,” the president said. “They found a guy named Dan Sullivan, they put him up to get a little confused.”

Donald Trump, who lied dozens of times during his speech in Wasilla, repeated his falsehoods about the gas pipeline Tuesday and claimed that all the money to build the project is “already committed.” That is not true. South Korea has not agreed to provide the $54 billion that Trump and his employees claimed South Korea approved in time to help Sen. Dan Sullivan claim credit for getting all the money needed to build the gas pipeline.
